Dongmin Im received his BS (1992) and MS (1994) degrees in Chemical Engineering from Seoul National University, Korea supervised by Dr. Seung M. Oh. He worked for Hankook Tire Co. from 1994 to 1999, and received his PhD degree in Materials Science & Engineering in 2002 from the University of Texas at Austin supervised by Dr. Manthiram. He is currently a senior researcher at Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT).
Dongmin Im’s research focuses on chemistry and materials for various kinds of rechargeable batteries. His research experience covers lead-acid battery, rechargeable alkaline battery, lithium-ion battery, and lithium-air battery. His current activity is mainly on lithium-air battery.
